Cha-am is an appealing choice for organisations looking to take their teams away from their usual meeting rooms while keeping the destination accessible by road from Bangkok. The Tourism Authority of Thailand describes Cha-am as being within reach for a day trip, giving organisers the option of a one-day meeting or an event with an overnight stay. Travel time should still be planned around the departure point, the number of vehicles and actual traffic conditions.
Choose a venue that suits the event
Cha-am offers a range of venues, from rooms for small meetings to banquet halls and outdoor spaces. The Regent Cha-Am Beach Resort, for example, lists meeting rooms of different sizes, beachfront event spaces and accommodation within the resort. This makes it an example of a venue where meetings and the activities that follow can take place on the same property.
Organisers can also consider other venues according to the setting they have in mind. Despite its Hua Hin name, Dusit Thani Hua Hin is located in Cha-am district and has facilities for large meetings. Springfield Village Golf & Spa offers seminar rooms in a setting close to its golf course, while Springfield at Sea Resort and Spa lists meeting facilities for smaller groups of up to around 100 people, depending on the room layout specified by the hotel. Cha-Am Methavalai also lists spaces for different event formats, and Grand Pacific Sovereign Resort & Spa is listed as a venue provider by the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau, or TCEB.
These venues provide a starting point for comparison. Organisers should request floor plans, capacities for their preferred seating arrangements, equipment details and current quotations directly from each property.
Make good use of time outside the meeting room
One advantage of holding an event in Cha-am is the opportunity to give participants a change of pace after their meetings. Organisations might arrange a shared dinner by the sea, small-group activities or free time for participants to walk and talk informally. For those interested in sport, Springfield Village Golf & Spa has a golf course on the property. The Regent Cha-Am Beach Resort is another option for beachfront dinners and group activities. What can be arranged will depend on participant numbers, the weather and the venue’s services on the event date.
Government agencies and organisations with more time may wish to include visits to local learning sites, such as Maruekhathaiyawan Palace or Sirindhorn International Environmental Park, where participants can learn about coastal ecosystems. Organisers should contact these sites before including them in a group itinerary, particularly when arranging visits for larger groups.
The launch of Hua Hin–Cha Am MICE City in 2026
The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has recently recognised Hua Hin–Cha-am as one of Thailand’s six new MICE destinations. A distinctive feature of this destination is the collaboration between Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan provinces.
Organisers can therefore consider meeting venues, accommodation and post-meeting activities across both towns and bring them together in a single trip. The designation followed an assessment of readiness in several areas, including transport access, event venues, accommodation, activities and risk management.
Cha-am is therefore well suited to meetings and seminars when organisers choose a venue that matches the event’s actual objectives. Training that requires participants to split into smaller groups will need different spaces from a staff party or an executive meeting. Before making a decision, organisers should consider guest-room availability, seating arrangements, audiovisual systems, local transport and the total cost together.
