For further activities beyond swimming and lying on the beach we recommend a trip to the Camel Republic, a family-friendly amusement park which is situated only a few kilometers outside Cha-am town.

Once you have left the beach and the seaside town behind, you will find that the setting of Camel Republic offers a total contrast to that found in other parts of Cha-am. When visiting all the attractions in the area it must offer something different to the normal family fun of the rides and amusements, and it does. The Arabic-style buildings, beautiful archways and colorful vibrant themed settings all add up to an amazing setting to spend a day out.

Camels in Thailand are something that children will have not seen before. This allows them to get up close to the amazing animals and really find out more about them. Adults will also get a lot out of seeing these gentle animals up close too.

Not only can visitors of the Camel Republic expect to see a lot of camels, also other animals live in the park. Children can be inspired by the different kinds of animals that live in the park and that can be seen. Also adults can learn a lot about the animals that live in the park. The different animals that live in the park can be observed closely by visitors.

Some parts of the park allow for close encounters with the various animals, or even activities which are set up by Camel Republic itself. Watching a camel eat a meal for example, could be one of the simple moments to recollect on a very enjoyable family holiday.

As you enter the park’s animal areas and learn about different creatures, a change in atmosphere and mood takes over and you enter the amusement area of Camel Republic. Plenty of rides for different ages are available, some of which are quite extreme for those who are young at heart. Family members of different ages can choose between various activities to ensure that there is something for everyone on the day.

Take plenty of family photos and other scenes whilst strolling around all the unique areas to capture the special atmosphere of this tropical themed resort. But Camel Republic also rides. There are so many for all different ages that the end of the day will be something to remember for long.

Families with children can enjoy a lot of fun areas to keep the little ones occupied such as animal areas to see and learn about, then move on to a host of rides and amusements to stimulate their sense of adventure. The parents too can enjoy relaxation in the park’s cafes and other leisure areas and keep everything in control and in a nice order for them and their children.

Why visit Camel Republic?

But for all, it can be one of the days filled with the most memorable moments when an experience with the animals, lots of interesting activities, amusement park games, rides, lots of fascinating photo opportunities and a lot of interactivity bring the most wonderful memories of holidays spent with children.

Many places of interest in Cha-am are within easy reach for a one-day visit, and after a day exploring Camel Republic the family can head off to places such as the beautiful and tranquil Phanthurat Forest Park or return to the beach in the evening to watch the sunset and enjoy the sea breeze and nighttime entertainment along the shore.

A day of fun rides for the family would be a really great day, and Camel Republic can provide this in a day taken from the beach activities of Cha-am, providing a great change of scenery and activities for the family.

So for families visiting Cha-am looking for a day where everyone can have fun, learn and then discover something new then a day at Camel Republic has got to be considered as part of their itinerary. Those are some of the best holiday memories.

This alternative tour stop offers a colorful, unusual, very different look at Cha-am. Colorful buildings, canals and arched European-style bridges for miles create views of an alternate, estranged Cha-am that is usually known for great beaches, seafood and natural attractions.

Siam Venezia Hua Hin–Cha-am is located on the Phet Kasem Road in Cha-am District, Phetchaburi Province. This new Hua Hin tourist destination project boasts of a touch of Venice on the road between Hua Hin and Cha-am as visitors experience colors of all kinds of buildings and canals leading to cool bridges and walking spaces.

The alternative, more architectural side of Cha-am can be found in Siam Venezia Hua Hin–Cha-am, located on Phet Kasem Road in the town center of Cha-am District, Phetchaburi Province. Magnificent and vibrant houses and buildings spread over the grounds where visitors can stroll, take photos and enjoy diverse activities and entertainments.

Siam Venezia Hua Hin–Cha’am is a place to explore at your leisure and take in all of the little architectural details, strolls and views of the buildings from the canal paths. During the day you can enjoy the brightly colored buildings. In the evening the walkways are illuminated and cast an array of reflections on the calm waters of the canals.

The location’s canals are also a central feature and are experienced by visitors on a gondola ride through the location’s canals and passing under its bridges. Again this is included in some ticket prices but not all, it’s best to check prior to visiting and to book in conjunction with entry ticket purchase.

In addition to a 3D art gallery with works by local and international artists, an upside-down house, a mini train ride, Mini Europe and animals in a small zoo, visitors can also go for a horse-drawn carriage ride or other activities offered by the venue from time to time. Activities and operating hours may change, so visitors can select activities suitable for them and check the participating venues’ openings before heading out.

If you are a photographer, Siam Venezia Hua Hin–Cha’am makes for a very interesting setting with many different viewpoints and backgrounds provided by the beautiful buildings, a lovely serpentine canal as well as beautiful and unique bridges of this international theme park.

Visitors can explore the grounds of Siam Venezia Hua Hin–Cha-am at their own leisure and choose from a number of activities and a variety of venues and experiences of interest to them. Visitors can return to the main road on Phet Kasem Road after they have had time to explore this off the beaten track venue in Cha-am.

Why visit Siam Venezia Hua Hin–Cha-am?

There are many aspects of this complex that utilize the unique ambiance of Venetian styled architecture in order to create the most wonderful and memorable experiences. Every space provides visitors the opportunity to engage with photography, leisurely strolling, relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere.

Siam Venezia will be able to accommodate visitors of all types. Families, couples, groups of friends and also photography enthusiasts can spend their time doing things that interests them the most while strolling through the various sites of interest in the venue.

Siam Venezia is on the Phet Kasem Road, through Cha-am to Hua Hin. It’s a place to go to for those who want to see another side of Cha-am, rather than the usual beach, seafood and natural attractions.

At the northern end of Cha-am Beach, near Wat Neranchararam in Phetchaburi Province, stands the King Naresuan, the Great Monument. The site brings together an important chapter of Thai history and the coastal landscape of Cha-am in a setting unlike that of most historical monuments.

Set in an open area by the sea, the statue depicts King Naresuan the Great holding his royal sword and facing the water. Its dignified, commanding presence feels markedly different from monuments surrounded by buildings or busy streets. People come here to pay their respects, learn about the history of the site, and remember the King’s contributions to the nation.

The monument was created through the cooperation of the local community and several supporting organizations. Its foundation stone was laid on 19 February 1998 (B.E. 2541), and construction began in 1999 (B.E. 2542) on the eastern side of the site beside Cha-am Beach. The project included preparing the land, casting the royal statue, building its pedestal, and landscaping the surrounding area to make it suitable for visitors and those wishing to pay their respects.

The monument’s base is finished in black granite, which makes the statue stand out against its surroundings. An open area at the front is provided for ceremonial offerings and acts of respect, while paved walkways and small landscaped gardens allow visitors to explore the grounds at an unhurried pace. Although the design of the site is relatively simple, its seaside location gives it a character all its own.

The monument was built to honour the memory of King Naresuan the Great, a monarch of the Ayutthaya Kingdom who played a major role in restoring the kingdom’s independence. He led military campaigns to defend the country during a period marked by political upheaval and warfare. His royal duties and achievements remain an important part of Thai history.

The coastal areas of Phetchaburi are also associated with local accounts of journeys made to the southern provinces by King Naresuan the Great and King Ekathotsarot. These stories have been passed down through local memory and appear in tourism information about the area. Some details, however, belong more to local tradition than to firmly documented history and are best understood alongside evidence from other historical sources.

The meaning of the monument extends beyond the life and achievements of King Naresuan. It also lies in the relationship between the memorial and the people of Cha-am. The grounds continue to be used by local authorities and community members for commemorative ceremonies and formal acts of homage on significant occasions. The monument therefore remains part of community life rather than simply a structure that recalls the past.

Why visit King Naresuan the Great Monument?

The monument is well suited to travellers interested in Thai history, local culture, and places that continue to hold meaning for the surrounding community. Visitors can learn about the royal achievements of an Ayutthaya monarch as well as the story behind a memorial created through the efforts of local people and supporting organizations.

Another distinctive feature is its coastal setting. The statue facing the sea and the atmosphere of the community at the northern end of Cha-am Beach make the experience different from visiting a monument in a large city. It is a quiet place where travellers can discover that Cha-am’s story encompasses far more than beaches and seaside tourism.

For anyone wishing to add a historical dimension to a visit to Cha-am, the King Naresuan the Great Monument is a worthwhile stop. It offers a place to pay respects, learn about the past, and better understand the relationship between Thailand’s national history, the local community, and the coastal landscape.

Not far from Cha-am’s main tourist area and beach is a quiet forest where visitors can enjoy the shade and spend time in nature. Cha-am Forest Park is located in Cha-am Subdistrict, Cha-am District, Phetchaburi Province, beside Phetkasem Road. It is approximately one kilometre from the Cha-am District Office and nearby from the coast, making it an easy addition to a day of exploring the town.

Cha-am Forest Park was established by the Royal Forest Department in 1992, initially covering approximately 233.36 rai. In 2020, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment designated 338 rai of national reserved forest as Cha-am Forest Park. The designation was published in the Royal Gazette on 9 February 2021.

The forest is suitable for visitors who want to walk, exercise, or relax in surroundings that are quieter than the beachfront. Activities include following the nature trail, exploring by bicycle or mountain bike and camping in the designated area under the park’s conditions.

A visit can be adapted to suit the time and interests of each traveller. Those looking for a gentle outing can walk along the nature trail and stop to take photographs along the way. Visitors who want some exercise can continue walking or cycle along the designated routes. Families may use the visit as an opportunity for children to learn about nature through direct observation of plants, birds and the forest environment.

There is no need to complete every activity in a single visit. Walking at a slower pace, resting in the shade and paying attention to small details in the surroundings can add a different kind of experience to a Cha-am holiday beyond swimming and relaxing on the beach.

Cha-am Forest Park is a place where children and adults can spend time together. Parents can introduce children to simple ways of caring for a forest such as disposing of waste properly, avoiding disturbance to wildlife and leaving plants untouched. Solo travellers and groups of friends can choose to walk, cycle, or rest according to their interests.

Camping is another activity associated with the park. The designated camping ground has been developed for visitors who want to stay overnight. Anyone planning to camp should contact park staff in advance to confirm opening dates, visitor limits, applicable conditions, and available facilities. These details may change according to park management and weather conditions.

Why visit Cha-am Forest Park?

The park’s main advantage is its location close to both the town and the beach while offering an atmosphere quite different from Cha-am’s seaside attractions. Visitors can stop by for a short walk or plan an overnight stay to spend more time in nature. It is suitable for families, casual walkers, cyclists and travellers looking for a camping area in Cha-am.

Before travelling, check the latest information with the park’s official page or staff, particularly regarding campsite reservations, opening hours, and activity regulations. Bring drinking water and comfortable walking shoes and take all rubbish away when leaving so that this forest near the town can remain a pleasant place for everyone.

Saphan Hin in Cha-am is both a working area for local fishers and a place where visitors can stop to enjoy the sea. The surrounding community uses the area as part of everyday life, making it a different side of Cha-am beyond the familiar beach and holiday atmosphere. Fishing homes, boat moorings, seafood stalls and a walkway overlooking the Gulf of Thailand are all located close together. Visitors can walk in the sea breeze, take photographs and observe the daily routines of people whose livelihoods remain closely tied to the coast.

The Saphan Hin community is in Cha-am Subdistrict, Cha-am District, Phetchaburi Province. It was originally part of the Ban Pak Khlong community before becoming a separate community in 2005. The area lies near the entrance channel to a cement pier that was once used to handle goods and materials related to cement production.

Fishers use the waters around Saphan Hin to moor boats of different sizes, shelter from rough weather, tend to their nets and unload catches for household consumption or sale. Homes, shops and seafood restaurants gradually developed around this working area. What visitors see today is therefore not simply a tourist setting, but a neighbourhood where people continue to live and work.

One of the best-known features is “Pu Chak–Saphan Yok,” or the Crab Pulling–Lift Bridge area, situated between the Saphan Hin and Ban Khlong Thian communities. Fishers moor their boats in Saphan Hin Canal and sell their catches along the water. Live blue crabs are placed in mesh bags tied to ropes and lowered into the canal. When a customer places an order, the bag is pulled back up, giving rise to the name pu chak, meaning “pulled-up crab.” The small metal bridge can be raised and lowered to allow boats to pass, which explains the name Saphan Yok, or “lift bridge.”

Visitors can buy blue crab, prawns, shellfish, fish and squid according to the day’s catch. Some vendors offer steaming, grilling or other cooking services so that the seafood can be eaten immediately. The selection and quantity vary with the season, weather and fishing conditions, so the same products may not be available every day.

Even for those who are not planning to buy seafood, Saphan Hin is a pleasant place to watch fishing boats, look across the Gulf of Thailand and photograph the coastal community. Visitors should walk carefully, avoid obstructing areas used for unloading catches and respect the work of local fishers. This remains an active workplace, not simply a location for sightseeing and photographs.

Why visit Saphan Hin, Cha-am?

Saphan Hin suits travellers who want to understand Cha-am through the everyday life of its fishing community. Visitors can see the boats, seafood stalls and the distinctive method used to keep blue crabs fresh. A walk around the area may not take long, but it offers a clearer sense of how the sea supports both tourism and the livelihoods of local families, as it has done for generations.
